A few days ago, my microfiber Couch was fully destroyed. It was getting too much dirt. I thought maybe it wouldn’t clean again like before.

I called a local furniture cleaning service, but they demanded $150 for it, which is too expensive. So, I did a study on youtube about this, and now my heavily soiled microfiber Couch is fully clean like before.

So, guys, in this article, I’m going to share that experience with you. Here are the 3 best ways of cleaning.

Method #1: Using by Rubbing Alcohol/Glass Cleaner (For deep dirty)

If your microfiber sofa has been completely destroyed, there is no way that it can make it alive. The good news is that this method will work perfectly for you.

I’m going to share that method in this part; this way can clean too dirty Microfiber surface, so let’s see.

  • Rubbing Alcohol /Glass Cleaner
  • Spray Bottle
  • Soft Plastic Brush
  • Spong
  • Warm Water in a Fresh bowl
4 Steps clean a heavily soiled Microfiber Couch
Prepare Ingredients
Take warm water in a bowl, pour Rubbing Alcohol into a spray bottle, and collect other materials which I’ve mentioned above.

Note: From research, I got that Glass Cleaner can be cleaner than Rubbing Alcohol. So, it is better to use glass cleaner instead of Rubbing Alcohol.
Prepare Couch to start cleaning.
If your Couch has gotten deeply dirty, you should move it near other furniture. Otherwise, they will get dirty. And you can place a water-soaking cloth or water-resistant paper to prevent floor damage from Water dripping.
Start Cleaning
Spray as well, Alcohol, or Glass Cleaner on a specific area of your Microfiber Sofa/Couch. Then take the Brush and deeply rubbing width and longwise on the sprayed surface.

Now, take the Sponge and deeply wipe the brushed surface to grab the dirt into the Sponge’s surface. You will see the Sponge will become deep dirt.

Clean the Sponge with warm water, and wipe again until it vanishes dirty on the sprayed surface.
Do this job repeatedly the same way to clean the whole sofa.
Drying the Couch
Microfiber dries faster than a normal cloth. So you can keep it under the ceiling Fan or in the Sun.
Warning: Be Careful, don’t deeply wet Foam. It may fully damage your Couch if you seem the inner part has got deep wet. Dry it on the hard Sun as well.

Method #2: Baking Soda, Homemade Method (For Regular Cleaning)

If your Couch becomes dirty, but it isn’t too much, this way will work as well.

Especially in this World Pandemic, you should regularly clean your home furniture. So this way, you can clean your microfiber furniture once a month.

Laundry detergent and Baking Soda are available anywhere and are cheap. So it won’t be a hassle and expense for you.

  • Laundry Detergent
  • Baking Soda
  • Microfiber Cloth
  • Cotton WashCloth
  • Little hard Plastic Brush
  • Clean, warm Water

Step 1: Prepare Ingredients

Take 1-1.5 little warm water into a bowl, and add 2-3 tablespoons of laundry detergent to it. Then mix them very well until foamy.

Note: It will be best if you remove sofas parts from the body and wash them differently.

Step 2: Washing with Laundry Detergent.

Soak a soft rag/cloth with the detergent mixer, then rub deeply on the full Couch of that specific part.

Then take the Brush and wrap it with a soft rag, and wipe it until clean dirty. When the cloth (Which is wrapped with the Brush) gets dirty, wash with warm Water and wipe again.

It will clean 80% dirty microfiber, then go for the next step.

Note: Don’t directly wipe with a hard brush. It will damage your Fiber. Make sure, wrapping it with a soft cloth.

Step 3: Washing with Baking Soda.

Now spread out baking soda powder on the whole Microfiber surface. Then massage it with a dry cloth to merge with Fiber. As like when you massage makeup powder on your face.

After completion, wait for 10 minutes to get the best result.

Now take another soft cloth soaked with fresh Water, and wipe it smoothly and deeply to clean baking soda from the microfiber.

And the remaining dirt will come out with the soda.

Step 4: Drying the Sofa.

Keep under ceiling fans or open your room’s windows for 1-2 hours. It will completely dry within a short time.

After drying, you see Soda power. Normally clean it with a dry cloth or use a vacuum.

Method #3: Using Machine for Faster (To make life easier)

If you are a busy guy and don’t have much time to regularly clean your Microfiber furniture, this method is for you. You can clean a large Sofa set within 30 minutes this way.

So, I think it’s going to be too helpful for you.

Step 1: Preparing Machine and Ingredients.

There aren’t any dedicated microfiber cleaning machines in the market that are not expensive. So, I use a carpet vacuum cleaner that works well. If you have a Carpet Vacuum like me, well! Otherwise, you can purchase this from Amazon that will work dual purpose.

And you have to purchase “Shaklee” (a great cleaning material).

Fill half amount of Water in the Machine’s tank. Add 3-4 tablespoons of vinegar with Water and 3-4 drops of “Shaklee.”

Note: Don’t drop over 3-4 drops because “Shaklee” is super concentrated. It is enough for an entire Sofa.

Step 2: Spry out the mixer on Sofa/Couch.

Vacuuming normally on the sofa to remove general dust. Then, after adding the above mixer into the water tank, spray that on the fiber surface.

Note: The Machine has two operations, one is spraying, and another one is sucking.

Step 3: Vacuuming the Deep dirty.

After completing the spray, instantly deeply run vacuuming on the sprayed surface to sucking all dirty. Now your Couch is spotless.

Step 4: Drying.

Normally when you run the vacuum, it will be sucking 90% of Water, So you don’t have to wait much to dry it.

Best Tips:

In this section, I have given you some important tips that you should know. Because these are important for best practice for cleaning.

  • Don’t use hard Brush
  • Try a little bit in a small corner before using any hard cleaner.
  • Glass Cleaner is better than Rubbing Alcohol.
  • First vacuuming to clean normal dust before going to cleaning steps.
  • Warm Water can clean deeper than cold and normal temperature water.
